Listening to BBC4's religious slot - All about God. A&PT suggests Christianity got most of it right apart from the male "God our Lord" bit. That idea is clumsy/bullying. Instead God is the personification of the mind of the group. God is us. A Collective. Each of belongs to several groups. So there are many group minds, many Gods. One per group. So the ancient Greeks & Romans were probably well ahead of where we are today...
